Annual Casino Night Benefits Humane Society

BINGHAMTON--On Saturday night, Binghamton residents didn't have far to travel if they felt like doing some gambling.

The Humane Society held it's tenth Annual Casino Night at the Knights of Columbus in Binghamton.

Anyone feeling lucky could play games like black jack and poker- or just try their luck in a raffle.

Proceeds from the night will help fund the animal shelters day-to-day operations.

"We are at capacity about 95 percent of the time.  Fundraising is really important to our organization. It's what keeps our doors open and able to rescue more animals," said Laura Melville of the Humane Society.

The shelter can care for approximately 150 animals.
