Update: Power Restored to Most Customers

NYSEG spokesman Clay Ellis tells Fox 40 News that as of 9:50PM Thursday night,  power had been restored to most customers.  He says the outage was caused by an undertermined problem at a substation.

About 2,000 customers lost power around 8:30 Thursday evening. Parts of Vestal, Binghamton and Johnson City were without power, including areas of the Parkway and the Joint Sewage Treatment Plant. 

Lourdes Hospital was running on a generator.

The power outage also affected WICZ-TV's network programming  and Fox 40's 10PM newscast.
