New Buses a "Go" in Chenango Forks School District

CHENANGO -- Voters in the Chenango Forks School District said yes Tuesday night to the purchase of four liquid propane buses to replace four buses powered by Diesel.

The proposition to approve the purchase passed 85 to 41.

It gives the district the go-ahead to buy three 65-passenger buses and one 48-passenger bus.

The propane buses would be more fuel efficient, and would help defend the district against rising fuel costs.

The purchase would be financed by an installment bond. After transportation aid from the state is applied, the district will pay $75,000 dollars spread over a five year period.
