Budget Talks Continue for Vestal Central School District

VESTAL -- The Vestal Central School District continues to wrestle with its budget.

Tuesday night, the School Board was looking for ways to close a budget gap of almost two million dollars to balance revenues with expenditures in the 73.8 million dollar spending plan.

Options under consideration include elimination of positions through attrition, outright elimination of positions, and elimination of non-mandated programs and associated personnel.

The board hopes to make cuts that will not directly impact educational programs.
