To start developing the plan the city will host monthly roundtable discussions on how to spur long-term growth through green infrastructure, historic preservation, and brownfield redevelopment. The city, which will develop the plan over the next 18 months, was one of 27 cities selected for the half million dollar housing and urban development grant.
"This is an effort in which we can collect all of the work we've done and end up with literally a legal document. So this really does impact the future and for those who work, invest and live here and care deeply about Binghamton. It's really important part to be engaged," said Director of Community Development, Tarik Abdelazim.
Project "Blueprint Binghamton" will launch this Friday at the former First National Bank on 49 Court Street.
