Fatal Crash in Afton

Police say the driver involved in a fatal Sunday morning crash in Afton is charged with Vehicular Manslaughter, and Driving While Intoxicated.

Investigators say 22 year old Ryan Lewis lost control of his vehicle on a curve and struck a tree while traveling north on Afton Lake Road.

His passenger,  24 year old Joelyn Sines of Harpursville was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lewis, also of Harpursville, is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Two backseat passengers, 22 year old Mitchelll Birch and 22 year old Caleb Gregory, both of Afton, are in stable condition.
