Binghamton University Hosts Third Annual TEDx Conference

VESTAL -- "Sex, Tech & Rock 'n' Roll" was the theme of Sunday's TEDx Conference at Binghamton University.

Over a thousand people came out to the third annual event, which is designed to promote and and stimulate ideas. Student organizers brought in speakers, visionaries, and performers from all over the world, including artists, sex researchers, a NASA scientist, and a rock band.

"I really hope to have a conversation, for there to be a dynamic conversation about ideas that were shared today," said Leonard Simmons, Executive Director and Founder of TEDx, Binghamton University.

"I really hope my art can show how it's breaking boundaries and how amazing geometries and outside-of-the-box things can be.  And inspire people to think outside that box," said artist Joshua Harker.

TEDx is a localized, self-organized version of TED, Technology, Entertainment and Design, a 25-year-old nonprofit organization created to spread ideas.
