Binghamton University Engineer's Week

Over a hundred local kids got a chance to see what it's like to be an engineer while on BU's campus.

The Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering welcomed young students to try their hands at various engineering activities. The kids tested spaghetti bridges, built popsicle house and constructed flashlights out of dixie cups.

"You have to inspire them at a young age. Engineering and science are difficult, challenging curriculum and you have to inspire them at an early age," said Peter Partell.

"We don't usually do it in school so that makes it fun,"said student Gavin Fanning of Endwell.

The 4th annual event marks the close of National Engineers Week.
