M-E's both lucky and good

ENDWELL -- It's been said that sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

But what if you're both?

That's been the case for Maine-Endwell this season. With only one regular season slip up the Spartans have been rolling of late. M-E capped things off on Sunday with a STAC boy's championship, and look to continue the winning ways into the Section IV tournament.

To do so, the Spartans will need both their skill and lady luck.

"Whenever you got good players you have to get a couple of bounces here and there, and then there's no telling. But everyone we play from here on out is going to be a worthy opponent, says M-E Head Coach Bill Ocker. So, we'll just take it one game at a time, and see how we can max out."

Maine-Endwells worthy opponent in the Class A Section IV final is Vestal, who took down Johnson City Wednesday night.

The Spartans and Golden Bears face-off in the championship game next Friday, March 1st, at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
