Roberson Museum Hosts Annual Model Train and Doll Fair

BINGHAMTON -- Area train lovers got to meet dozens of fellow enthusiasts Sunday at the Roberson Museum.

It was the museum's Annual Model Train and Doll Fair.  The featured exhibit was the railroad display-- the largest public model train layout in the region-- designed to represent Greater Binghamton. Guests were also able to buy, sell, and trade items with various vendors.

"Model railroading, they claim, is the largest hobby in the world.  And people don't realize it because so many people have trains in their closets, attics, basements," said Robert Hamilton, Volunteer at the Roberson Museum.

"I've loved them since I was a kid, always had one around the Christmas tree growing up.  And I'm trying to instill that in my grandson here," said Richard Hrebin of Binghamton.

If you missed today's event, you can still check out the model train display during the museum's regular hours.
