Family and Friends Remember Missing New Berlin Woman
2/16/2013 (Updated 10:57:10 PM)NORWICH -- 36-year-old Jennifer Ramsaran of New Berlin, New York, was last seen on Decemeber 11th of 2012.
On Saturday, her family and friends teamed up with the nonprofit LostNMissing to hold a "Shining Hope" event to bring awareness to Ramsaran's case.
"The day that Jen went missing, she took a big part of us with her," said her husband, Ganesh Remy Ramsaran.
The group released paper lanterns into the sky in honor of Ramsaran-- a woman they say is dearly missed.
"I was 19 and she was 18 when we met back in college. An incredible mother, a wonderful wife, and an incredible friend," said her husband.
The group also distributed missing posters for volunteers to hang in surrounding communities.
"The majority of those missing that are located alive safely-- it is because of the general public," said Cynthia Caron, president of LostNMissing.
And Saturday's showing gives Ramsaran's family hope.
"It's twenty degrees, It's snowing, no one's left and they're all here. The people that know us and love us are here for us," said Ramsaran.
And LostNMissing representatives say that is exactly their goal.
"While my heart is with that missing person, my work is for the family. They're the ones that are here, they're the ones that need the support," said Caron.
To this day, only Ramsaran's car and cell phone have been found. If you have any information you are urged to call the Chenango County Sheriff's Office at 607-334-200.
