Black History Month Celebration

The Discovery Center held its annual Black History Month celebration Friday.
 
Hundreds of kids got to partake in various fun and educational activities.

An African dance troupe from Binghamton University taught the kids a traditional circle dance from Ghana.

"By having a lot of fun by playing at all the different stations, they really just take it in all so much more.  They have a great memory of it," said Gabrielle Montanez

"It encourages culture and understanding.  But more importantly I think dance is really important, and it's something I wish I had when I was a kid," said Marcel March
 
You can celebrate Presidents' Day with the Discovery Center this Monday at their "Presidential Pets" event.
