How to Find Out if Local Restaurants Pass Health Inspections

Whether you go out to eat on Valentine's Day, or some other time  --you might sometimes wonder just what's going on the the kitchen where treats and food are being prepared.
Now, there's a quick and easy way to find out:

The Broome County Health Department has a website allowing the public to view restaurants that have been taken to enforcement in  2012, and will be doing this for 2013 as well.

For those who don't know how a health inspection works, Amici Pizza Bar volunteered to run us through a mock inspection saying that they had nothing to hide--and we're in fact, quite proud of they way they run their operation..

The health inspector we spoke with said that some critical violations would include storing raw meat with prepared meat, and improper stock storage, such as cleaning supplies being in an area that could contaminate food.
