Friends Share 105th Birthday Party

Sharing a birthday with a friend is nice, but it's especially exciting when you're both turning 105.

The UHS Senior Living at IDEAL celebrated the milestone birthdays of its two oldest residents Mary Spencer and Laura Fowler.

The two retired teachers ate cake and celebrated with family, fellow residents, and former students.

"We live in the technological age.  They didn't even have cars.  A ship crossed the ocean in four days and now we can fly in hours to Europe," said Mary Ellen Gage, Activities Director at IDEAL.

"It feels no different than 104," said Mary Spencer.

IDEAL staff say this is the first 105th birthday party they have ever celebrated.
