Fight til the end for the B-Sens and Devils

BINGHAMTON -- The Binghamton Senators returned home for the first time this month to take on the Albany Devils tonight.

The Devils scored two goals in the third period to force overtime, which led to a shootout. After falling behind 0-2, the B-Sens tied it up but it was Albany's Joe Whitney with the game winner as the Sens fell, 3-2 in the shootout.

It was also the team's Power to the Purple night in support of Do It For Darren.

Here's more on Power to the Purple, courtesy of the Senators:

The Binghamton Senators partnered with the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier (MHAST) and D.I.F.D. (Do It For Daron) for Power to the Purple Night on Sunday, Feb. 10, when the B-Sens host the Albany Devils at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

Power to the Purple Night seeks to inspire conversations about youth mental health and promote mental well-being.  Mental health isnt always easy to talk about but its definitely worth talking about - the earlier a mental illness is recognized and treated, the better the chances are for recovery.  Power to the Purple empowers people to start these important conversations with their friends, family, and community.  During Power to the Purple Night, the B-Sens in conjunction with MHAST and D.I.F.D. will highlight issues surrounding youth mental illness and promote resources within the Binghamton community which offer mental health support services to youth and their families.
