Benefit Held for Porcari Family

Right after the Firefighter Winter Games, the Owego Fire Department headed home to join the community's efforts to help support the Porcari family.

A benefit was held for the family at Parkview Restaurant and Pub. A Webster firefighter who stopped by Sunday says he understands what the Owego department is going through.  His department lost a firefighter on Christmas Eve.

"I've told some of these guys just keep plugging along it will get better...hang on to each other you've still got the rest of the guys there," said Richard Gross, Webster firefighter.

"It's been a tough three weeks but were keeping busy with things like this help us get through and we are trying to be there for the Porcari family," said Patrick Gavin, Owego firefighter.

Money raised will go towards renovations to the Porcari family's home which was affected by the flood in 2011.
