No More Saturday Mail Delivery

Packages will continue to be delivered six days a week, and regular mail can still be picked up at post office boxes on Saturdays.
The new arrangement begins the week of August 5th. The Postal Service says the move comes because of the increase in packages deliveries, and the significant decrease in other mailings over the past few years.
Postal officials say that's due to e-mail and the internet.
Marion says: "America uses its mailbox just as the internet has become the location for a lot of your financial and personal communications, things that used to come in the mail now go to the internet. The internet has also changed the way Americans shop and so their hobby activity, maybe you used to have garage sales or yard sales, now youre selling things may on an auction site from our home to see what you can do," said Manager of Corporate Communications USPS, Maureen Marion, Communication.
Maureen marion says research shows that seven out of ten Americans support the switch to five day delivery as a way for the post office to reduce costs.
