Student Gun Suspension Hearing Stops When Fox 40 News Shows Up

A local court case, involving two students who have been accused of threatening to take guns to school was stopped Monday, when Fox 40 News showed up for the hearing in Family Court on Hawley Street in Binghamton.

Vincent Osborn and David Terwillliger--of Jennie F Snapp Middle School were suspended for an entire school year, following accusations by other students that the boys were planning to bring guns to school.

After a hearing before the superintendent-- the suspensions stood.
The boys' attorney, Ron Benjamin, insists the judgement was made without a proper examination of evidence.  The case is now in Family Court, where Judge Spero Pines stopped the proceedings today, apparantly  so he can have time to decide whether the media should be allowed to attend--with, or without cameras.

The case is set to continue on March 11.
