Transit Hub Diner Tour

Thinking about getting into the diner business?  Broome County is making that easier.

For the next week, the county will be accepting proposals from people who would like to open a food service establishment in place of the Twilight Diner at the Greater Binghamton Transportation Center in Downtown Binghamton.  Deputy County Executive John Bernardo says it's an opportunity for a business to place itself at the city's transportation hub.

"Keeping the diner open now I think is important because this is a beautiful facility," he said.  "It is right in the heart of Binghamton and you certainly want an alternative or a place for people to go when they're passing through whether it be long-term bus trips or our local people."

To submit a proposal, you must obtain bidding documents from the Broome County Department of Purchasing at 778-2188.  The deadline will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 13th.
