Siena Poll on Hydrofracking

Like those in the rest of the state, upstate and Southern Tier residents remain just about evenly split on the issue of hydrofracking.

That, according to a new Siena College Poll.

It finds that 47% of Southern Tier voters support hydrofracking, and slightly more, 48%, oppose it.

State wide, it's an exact tie with 40% in support and 40% opposed.

But support for fracking increases by several percentage points both downstate and upstate, after those polled reviewed arguments pro and con about the drilling process.
