Study To Enhance Endicott Trail

"We have a partial trail called Chugnut. It goes from about the high school area to the old bridge that goes over to Vestal," says Frank Flint, Village of Endicott Trustee.
The town will conduct a 25-000 study to see how they can lengthen the trail.
"This is just for a small extension of about five miles or so to see how much it's going to cost what the feasibility is," says Flint.
Flint says the Rotary is currently rehabilitating the current trail and says the majority of funding for the study will come from the state and some will come from grants from the Town of Union and Village of Endicott.
"There were actually six companies who submitted RFP's to do this study for the extension. From that, we have a committee that selected two of them who we are going to interview next week," says Flint.
The study will start as soon as it's approved and be completed by September. The goal would be to connect the trails to all the surrounding towns like the one in Vestal, and put up signs that would detail the areas historic sights
"This is all for our future, to build some of the history so people will have a reason and want to stop h here as they pass through," says Flint.
