College athletes, GBFC have mutual benefits

When Captain Chris Riley arrived at the Greater Binghamton FC tryouts, he was excited to see 44 players trying to make the squad.

Several of the players are also current college athletes.  The GBFC season allows them to stay in shape for their school team the next year, and Binghamton's semi-pro team also benefits by having well practiced and in shape players on their roster.

The National Premier Soccer League is a semi-pro league.  None of the players on GBFC are paid, therefore not impacting future NCAA eligibility.
