Woman Charged With DWI With Child In Car

A Binghamton woman is facing charges after police say she was driving drunk with her child in the car--and then hit a patrol car.
 
Broome County Sheriff's office officials say 24-year-old Lauren Smith was pulled over around 2:30 Saturday morning while driving on Prospect Street in the town of Dickinson.  They say she hit the rear of a patrol car which had its emergency lights on.

No one was injured, however police say the 1-year-old wasn't properly fastened in their car seat.

An investigation revealed Smith's BAC level  was .18 percent.  The legal limit is .08 percent. 

She is facing multiple charges including driving intoxicated with a child in the vehicle, a class E felony.
