18th Annual Bowling Tournament Benefits ACHIEVE

Hundreds dusted off their bowling shoes in Vestal on Saturday with hopes to not only roll a strike, but also to help out some area residents.

Midway Lanes hosted the 18th Annual Pin Crushing Bowling Tournament to raise money for ACHIEVE.  The organization provides treatment for people in Broome and Tioga Counties with intellectual or other disabilities.

"It's a great event, I'd like to help ACHIEVE.  It's a great organization.  It does really wonderful things for special people.  It helps them raise money for things that are un-budgted, certain consumers-- helps take them on a trip or buy equipment.  So it's a great opportunity for me to give back to the community," said Assemblyman and Co-Sponsor Clifford Crouch.

Officials say the bowling bonanza typically razes $13 to 15,000 dollars.
