Fiala Pushes for Governor Cuomo's Agenda

DMV Commissioner and Former Broome County Executive Barbara Fiala was in Binghamton Wednesday to discuss Governor Cuomo's budget messages.

Fiala said improving education is a major focus for the governor, who is encouraging schools to lengthen their school day or year. 

She also says Cuomo has presented a comprehensive plan to improve the upstate economy through the legalization of casino gambling upstate and the promotion of upstate products. 

"As a resident of the Southern Tier, I like the fact that we're going to market the area, economic development.  He really understands that upstate NY has lagged behind and also education is very important," said Fiala.

Fiala was one of several cabinet members bringing Cuomo's agenda to different parts of the state Wednesday.
