Mayor Ryan's Innovation Project

BINGHAMTON -- Mayor Matt Ryan was in Washington D.C. recently, meeting with other mayors at a conference to study the biggest challenges in the decades ahead.

Tuesday, he shared with us some of what he took away from that Mayor's Innovation Project in the nation's capitol.  Among the priorities: the effects of climate change mentioned by President Obama in yesterday's inaugural address, and infrastructure repair and maintenance, part of a community's  assets that need to be given close attention.

"It gives you a lot of ideas and a lot of comradiership in knowing that other mayors are out there really wanting to share their successes and make us all successful across the country," Ryan said.

Ryan says part of his infrastructure concerns include Binghamton's aging parking garages that are both assets, and liabilities.
