Unemployment Numbers Show Job Increase in NY

The state's economy is in a bit better shape job-wise, according to the latest figures--
 
More than 34-thousand private sector jobs were added in December.
that sent the unemployment rate down to 8.2 percent from 8.3 percent in November.

There was also a tenth of a point drop in unemployment in the Upstate area, down  to 7.8 percent, from 7.9 percent the month before.

For all of 2012, more than 123-thousand private sector jobs were added across the state.
