For those of you thinking of starting a business--  thinking ahead can be the key to success:

Business advisor Ginny Thompson of the Small Business Development Center says planning is one of the most important things in developing a businesses plan.

That includes knowing what starting costs are, and how much should be spent on marketing, utilities, bank loans and salaries.

"It's going to be the difference between between success and failure, if you do not plan. If you do not get all of these numbers together ahead of time. You don't want to open your doors Monday morning and all of a sudden be dealing with all these problems that should have been taken care of before you even started your business," said Ginny Thompson a Business Advisor.

The Small Business Development Center is located on Water Street in Binghamton and offers it's services free of charge.
