Cuomo Issues Public Health Emergency

Governor Cuomo declared a public health emergency for the state on Saturday because of the severity of the flu season.

His executive order allows pharmacists to administer flu shots to patients between six months and 18-years-old. Previously a law limited pharmacists to giving flu shots only to those 18 years and older.

Nearly 20,000 cases of the flu have been reported in the state so far this season- more than four times the amount reported last season.
