Flu Shot Clinic to be held Wednesday

Broome County health officials are urging you to protect yourself from what could be the worst flu season on record.
 
The County Health Department is holding a walk-in flu clinic Wednesday from 9am until 5pm at it's office on 225 Front Street in Binghamton.

The cost for the flu shot will be $25 and the clinic is open to anyone ages three and up.

"The flu season this year came on a lot earlier than usual and it came on fairly intensely. And it does continue. Unfortunately there's no way to predict how long it might last," said Marianne Yourdom, Communicable Disease Nurse at the Broome County Health Department.

There have already been 438 lab-confirmed cases of the flu in Broome County this season.Officials say the flu season hasn't hit it's peak yet.

The most flu cases in Broome County was recorded during the pandemic of 2009-2010 when there were 658 cases in the county.
