Cuomo to deliver State of the State Address
1/8/2013 (Updated 11:05:55 PM)Albany is getting ready to hear Governor Cuomo's State of the State Address tomorrow.
Both Democrats and Republicans expect the governor to highlight progress made with the state's budget, and with economic initiatives like the property tax cap.
State Senator Tom Libous say economic development will probably be a big part of the governor's address, but many don't expect hydrofracking to be among the topics.
"The state of economic development, I'm sure he's going to talk about education," Libous said. "And I hope there's a line or two about environmentally safe gas drilling."
"He really hasn't mentioned that topic very much at all," said Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo. "Obviously it's highly controversial. If he says anything, I'm sure he'll just simply report what the obvious points are. It's in progress, progess of being reviewed, there's additional health analysis underway and when we get the reports back from those health professionals who are in the last part, I think a decision will be made."
Lupardo thinks gun control will be discussed, and new measures to curb gun violence has an increased chance of passage, following the horrific killings of school children in Connecticut.
Fox 40 will be in Albany tomorrow, and have full coverage of the governor's address, on Fox 40 News at six and ten.
