Clearing the Rubble

You've seen the footage--on Wednesday night the former Pa's Woodshed building on Montgomery Street in Binghamton burned to the ground.  Already steps are being taken to clear what is left.

Crews started to clear the area Friday. Mayor Matt Ryan told Fox 40 the demolition company LCP Group Inc. owned the land and had plans to demolish the building before the fire.

"Somebody walks away from a building under LLC  kind of agreement, there's not much we can do.  This time i think we got a good owner whose in the business so it shouldn't be a big problem," says Mayor Matt Ryan.

As we've reported, officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.  They say a homeless person taking shelter in the building or arson could be to blame.
