Endicott Native named Big Red Head Coach

(Source: Jeremy Donovan)Archer was a three year starter at tackle, guard, and center for Cornell. He also was one of the team's captains during his senior season. After graduating he began his coaching career as an assistant at Fairleigh Dickinson for one season before coming back home in 2007.
He has served as an assistant head coach at Cornell under Kent Austin who left the position for a job with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL.
Over the last several years, Archer has been the Big Red's recruiting coordinator and has had 21 players start at least one game in the last three years.
At 30 years and 60 days old, Archer becomes the youngest active head coach in Division I football. The next youngest is Paul Nichols of Davidson (31 years, 344 days).
Cornell ended the 2012 season with a 4-6 record (2-5 in Ivy League). Archer's first game as head coach will be on September 21 at home against Bucknell
