Dog Shot: Man Charged with Cruelty to Animals

In Pennsylvania, a Dimock Township man is charged with cruelty to animals --accused of shooting a woman's pet black lab mix-- as the animal crossed on to his property:

State police say 32 year old Matthew Debonis shot the dog--named "Bear"-- with a 22 caliber rifle.

The dog belongs to Michelle Foster, also of Dimock Township in Susquehanna County.

The incident occured on Messhoppen Creek Road.

Troopers who responded found foster in the process of taking her dog to an emergency vet clinic in Clarks Summit, Pa.

The bullet missed all of the dog's vital organs, and "Bear"  is expected to make a full recovery.
