Groton woman dies in fatal accident

DRYDEN -- A Groton woman was killed in a fatal car accident on State Route 366 in Dryden.
   
Sunday afternoon, the New York State Police in Ithaca investigated the collision that occurred near Upper Creek Road.

Victoria Howell, 20, was headed west bound when she lost control of her vehicle and entered the east bound lane, striking a vehicle traveling east that was being operated by James Caywoof, 48, of Elmira.

Howell was transported to Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca where she died from the injuries.

Caywood was not injured in the crash and no charges have been filed.
