Event Permit Prices Rise

The City of Binghamton could have a little more money coming their way due to a vote on event permits.

A permit that used to cost $10, will now cost $25 dollars per each day of the event.

Binghamton City council voted on the issue and it will be taking affect January first of 2013.

Binghamton city planner ron sall says that the permits are well worth the cost.

"The services provided are well worth whatever cost they charge us and we're happy to contribute. We're doing these events and these services that we're getting from the city is well above what we pay for,"

Event permits also have to be turned in 35 days ahead of time, instead of the previous 25.
