Salvation Army's Last Day of Fundraising

Monday was the last day for the Salvation Army's Kettle Campaign.

Volunteers were out Tuesday ringing bells trying to reach the Salvation Army of Binghamton's goal of one hundred and twelve thousand dollars.

The money raised locally, stays locally going towards soup kitchens, food pantries, adult and youth programs.

"It's been wonderful out here, ringing the bell Monday. We're blessed with some great weather, and a lot of holiday cheer from the people here. It's a wonderful day to be out," said Major Ron Heimbrock the Commanding Officer of the Binghamton Salvation.

More than a hundred people are expected at Monday night's free public dinner at the Salvation Army in Binghamton.
