Woman accused of setting fire, killing 33 dogs

GREENE -- A Greene woman is under arrest for setting fire to her basement.  The blaze killed the 33 dogs inside.
 
Michele Keech, 62, has been arrested for arson and aggravated cruelty to animals.  State Police in Norwich responded to a report of a despondent woman at 700 State Route 206 in Greene where they discovered Keech had set fire to the basement of her residence.  Keech was arraigned in the Town of Coventry Court and released on her own recognizance pending future court appearances.
