Christmas in the Park

Town of Union residents had a chance to pick up some stocking stuffers and listen to some holiday carols on Sunday.

The town celebrated its third annual Christmas in the Park ending with a tree lighting ceremony.  Food and craft vendors filled the gym at Highland Park. This year the celebration was also about giving back to fellow neighbors.

"The one thing that we did different this year, we really involved the community. We partnered with the Hooper Road Business Association where we asked people to come in and donate a non-perishable food item for the community which goes back to the community through the Maine-Endwell M-EALS program," said Tom Cassin,.the Deputy Commissioner of Public Works for Recreation.

He says it is a 6 month process to plan the holiday event.
