Johnson City Students Bowl for Sandy Victims

Some Johnson City High School students spent Sunday afternoon doing more than just trying to strike down some pins.

The high school's varsity club held a fundraiser at Laurel Bowl in Binghamton to raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief.  Organizers say the school adopted another high school in New Jersey that is in need of repair after the superstorm.

"It's awesome.  It's great-- the turnout we have.  The majority of people doing it are kids.  And that's what we love to see.  We have a lot of teachers here, we have a lot of people from the community.  And that's what we try to do-- get as many people from the community involved," said Co-organizer Matt Zelesnikar.

He says their goal was to raise $1000.  Donations are still being accepted at Johnson City High School.
