Cookies for Soldiers

Dozens of people from the community brought a variety of cookies and desserts to the Ground Round in Johnson City on Sunday. Family members of the soldiers receiving the goods told us that the gesture is important for our troops.
"We want them to feel a piece of home. It's hard being away from their families. My son, his wife, his children. If we can do this, it'll make them feel that we, as Americans, appreciate what they're doing," said co-organizer Gina Rought.
Organizers say they will ship the goods on Monday so they get to the troops in time for Christmas.
