Help-Portrait Makes Season Brighter

In the spirit of the holidays, area photographers did more than just make people smile on Saturday.

Local photographers and volunteers donated their time at the BinghamtonYMCA to take holiday portraits for family's in need.
This was the second annual Help-Portrait event which provides families with make-overs as well as photos.

Local organizations like United Way and the Salvation Army refer families to help-portrait.  Their goal is to make the season a little brighter.

"Families in need struggling, you know, to make ends meet .  With families suffering through Sandy having a nice portrait for the holiday's- means a lot," says Miriam Diaz, the event coordinator.

Help-portrait was established by Diaz and her husband.  Last year they helped out more than 150 families.
