Room to Heal Fundraiser

BINGHAMTON --  A Room to Heal held a fundraiser Thursday with a lunch at the Holiday Inn Arena in downtown Binghamton.

A Room to Heal helps build fun, healthy environments to help kids battling serious illnesses.

The organization was started in 2005 by two Vestal Women and helps create special rooms for kids in their homes.

Owego's Logan Abbey received a motorcycle-themed room in 2007 when he was four years old and battling cancer.

"Through the course of his treatment he was confined to his room quite a bit. So, Room to Heal came in and re-did his room as an environment for him to be able to enjoy," said Trevor Abbey, Logan's dad.

"It looks so fun," said Logan.

Logan has been cancer free for five years and still loves his motorcycle room.
