New York State Gas Prices Falling

BINGHAMTON -- New York state gas prices have been falling steadily for the past three weeks.

"That's a beautiful thing to lower the gas prices," said motorist Don Reala.

"It's good that they're falling, but it's still not cheap," said motorist Garrett Gyimesi.

According to NewYorkStateGasPrices.com, the average price of gas  today in New York state is $3.84, a little more than the national average of $3.39.  The site ranks a Hess station on Main street as having the cheapest regular gas prices in Binghamton.

"Especially with my truck I get such bad gas mileage that any little bit, Especially as a college student, to save is a good thing," said Gyimesi.

After paying nearly $4 earlier this month, Southern Tier residents say lower gas prices could mean more holiday shopping.

"Of course I'll buy more Christmas presents.  I got two little girls," said motorist Kingston Knowles.

But others say that the prices are not good enough yet.

"Once they come really down, but I don't think it's significant yet," said Gyimesi.

Experts from GassBuddy.com predict that national price averages will continue to fall until Christmas, hitting as low as $3.25.
