NYS auctions off vehicle surplus

Two such sales were held in Binghamton today. Between the two sites almost 200 items were auctioned off. All money raised at auction goes into the state general fund.
Officials at the local DOT in Kirkwood say this is the biggest sale they have had at the site. Prospective owners say it's a great way to get a good deal.
"Vehicles aren't really that old, they've been used hard but, buy them at a decent price, that's why I'm here. Just looking for a small state rack maybe, or a small dump, use it around the house, put it on the road maybe, haul firewood," said Andrew Rickard, prospective buyer from Hartwick.
There are three more surplus auctions scheduled state wide. The next one is tomorrow at the State Police barracks in Sidney.
