Cop Shooter Suspect Arraigned

The suspect in the shooting of an Ithaca police officer in October is now officially charged with attempted murder.

Jamel Booker was arraigned in Tompkins County Court Wednesday.

He faces eight charges, including Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault of a Police Officer, and Assault in the First Degree.

Police say Booker shot Ithaca Officer Anthony Augustine on October 11th during a chase.

Booker is in Tompkins County Jail on one million dollars bail.

The defense has until January 14th to file motions in the case.
