The two-year grant from the Department of Health and Human Services will provide financial support for graduate students for two years.
The dean of the school said the grant will allow more students to focus solely on their studies.
"Some of these students are being educated for here and for this area. Broome County and the surrounding area. Anytime you have a student who can focus on the education basis, they do better, they're are not stressed going to a job," said Joyce Ferrario, dean of Decker School of Nursing.
The grant will fund both full-time students and a group of part-time students, who have not been able to be supported by the school before.
