Time Warner Cable Modem Price Outrages Customers

VESTAL -- Time Warner Cable is facing two class action lawsuits brought by some of its customers.
 
Starting early November, Time Warner Cable asked their high speed internet users to pay $3.95 per month to rent a cable modem that used to be provided for free.

Customers are upset because they say that this wasn't listed in the customer agreement and they were not given a required 30 day notice. 

"I was told it was free to begin with, I've had it for several years now then all of a sudden they snuck up with this. A lot of these people can not afford this being on fixed incomes on social security and all that. How do they expect people to do all of this. It seems like they're bleeding people," said Karen Searle of Binghamton.

Fox40 contacted Time Warner Cable but a company spokesperson said she could not comment.
