Driver Critical After Car Crashes into a Weis Markets

BINGHAMTON -- Four people were taken to area hospitals after a car collided with the Weis Markets on Conklin Ave. around 12:30 Friday afternoon.

32-year old Justin Kehoe of Binghamton is reported by Wilson Hospital to be in critical condition Friday evening.

According to Binghamton Fire Captain Gary O'Neill, the driver appeared to lose his brakes coming down Burr Ave. when he sped across the intersection.  The male driver and the female passenger were both taken to the hospital as were the two children in the back seat under the age of ten.  Katee Germann, an eye witness described what she saw.

"I was sitting across the street at the Citgo in my car and I heard a loud squeal.  I turned around to see what it was because I thought there was going to be an accident at the intersection and I saw him coming through and he barreled through the intersection, came on through the driveway, tried to uppercut it and he hit right into the side of the building," she said.

No one was hurt inside the building or on the sidewalks.
