Jobs Report: Binghamton Loses 500

Binghamton hopes to revive it's economy through technological innovation--
But for now, the good news on the employment front is for the New York State economy as a whole--
 
State-wide, the total number of jobs has reached an all-time high.
however -- from October of last year to October of this year -- the Binghamton area is down 500 jobs despite several Upstate areas adding jobs.
Statewide--5,900 private sector jobs were added in October bringing the total job count to over 7.3 million -- with the highest number of jobs added in the New York City area.
